This week we have all new raffles, and as always, everyone who chooses to acquire a raffle ticket has a chance to win. One ticket is always selected at random to choose a winner.
We decided to review and update how raffles work going forward. As you know, all raffle winners are selected at random, any user, new or old, that acquires just one ticket still has a small chance to win. After careful review, we think we found some ways to improve Listia raffles, while still allowing everyone to participate.
Your feedback helped tremendously – thank you! We traced the entire history of raffles on Listia to determine just how many raffles were won by both new and longtime Listia Members. All Listia Members have a maximum number of raffle tickets they can acquire each day, so the more you use Listia, the more tickets you are allowed to acquire. We do so that you don’t spend too many credits on any one raffle, and to encourage everyone to use credits on auctions. When examining the use of credits from all Listia Members, we realized that some newer members may have become so excited about amazing raffles, that they were not participating in listed auctions.
In order to encourage active participation in the marketplace, we have decided to lower the maximum number of credits new users may use toward the purchase of raffle tickets. Once new users begin to bid, win and list auctions, they’ll be able to acquire more raffle tickets for each raffle.
Beginning today and going forward, raffle tickets for new Listia Members will require more participation before the daily limit is increased. However, new members will still have a chance to win, as all raffle winners are selected at random.
We hope these changes will encourage you to participate, but also thank those loyal Listians that have been discouraged or frustrated by the raffle process in the past. Going forward, we’ll continue to improve all aspects of Listia while making it a fun and rewarding place to get free stuff!

So, all you’re really is that, because you guys work on email accounts and do not trace IP addresses, users are able to sign up for a pile of accounts and apply all of the free credits from each towards raffles, the same way as they do with auctions trying to get lots of free items for the cost of nothing more than signing up for a free hotmail account, and then reap the rewards while the regular, honest users enter raffles at a disadvantage due to their honesty.

Been there, done that. The rules are very strange. Why would you want to limit your marketing base by this IP SHIT all you need to do is reinstate these poor people’s accounts!! And just make anyone on the same IP BLOCKED FROM ACCESSING EACHOTHERS LISTINGS, or just blocked from bidding and whatever else people do that made this rule . A rule to begin with…..it sucks btw. Cause I love listia but that is stupid. Can I have a joint account?! It says no where what I CAN DO only what I can’t!! SOMEONE FROM LISTIA GIVE ME A REAL ANSWER FROM A REAL PERSON UNLESS U ALL ARE ROBOTIC…I wouldn’t doubt it, customer service is pointless. You deem it solved. It’s not and no one cares .

I am glad that you heard what we have been saying and looked into it. I work hard for my credits and it is very difficult to give them away and get nothing back since i always do free shipping. this is great that ya’ll are fixing it and making it more fair for your loyal Listians.
It’s great that you have the great raffles but how about instead of giving away huge amounts of credits to one person (ex. 100,000 credits) split them up so that several people can win. such as 25,000 for 1st, and break it down from there. Even if 10 won 10,000 each would be better then just one winner.
Im in agreement with Laura….I work hard for my credits and purchase many as well as auction off my things. I think breaking the raffles up to more then one winner would be alot more fun. I was sad to see that you didnt keep a daily journal of the “mining”, listacorey. Had a blast searching even though I won nothing. It was a blast to see so many things up for auction and I won alot of auctions!
Yes I agree with this would def improve that part of listia anyways. Than more people win and more people like the site ect ect its a win win situation..

one item during the silver hunt i really wanted the item but because there was silver coin. I thought it was run unfairly. I never win in any raffles anyways, still I try. Maybe put some items up that there are multiple winners for each item would be nice so more people have a chance. I work really hard for my credits and not wasting them on raffles I know I have no chance of wining so your new rules really do not effect me much. I would spend some credits if there were multiple winners on some items but that is it.
Same here I gave up after looking for literally a day straight cause they banned my bf forever for using my ip so I was pretty still am pretty pissed about that. And am still needing answers why I can’t have two accounts on my ip like I should. Or can you just have a joint account I guess? Which is annoying…blegh whatever
If ONLY YOU GUYS WOULD FIX ALL THE REALLY CRAPPY THINGS INSTEAD OF improving the lame raffles. You never win! Unless you wanna spend all your coins!! Listia was a great idea but I am not sure they are going to make it. I have been on Listia for just over a year and while it was great when I started it has really gone downhill. I mostly try to bid and win silver on Listia and have noticed the section for coins drop from over 1000 listings at any given time to now around 300 with hardly any silver listed at all. I think most of the good sellers got tired of giving their items away for free basically.
I have listed new items in the past and sometimes I would do ok with the bids while other times it wasn’t even worth the postage. One example was some Skull Candy earbuds that I listed which were all brand new in sealed packages. I had multiple colors to choose from and charged 15,000 credits and free shipping but time after time people would leave a comment my prices were to high. Meanwhile Listia was selling their earbuds for like 26,000 credits and they were flying off the shelves. The biggest mistake Listia made was opening the rewards store. This sucks most of the credits out of the Listia community leaving hardly anything left to spend on the actual Listia users items.

I am personally tired of all the boguas auctions through out Listia. All these new so called Litians join just to get the free credits and the to more free credit they list a auction that 2x I got had and won and never heard from the owne of the auction. All that does is tie up peoples credit because we first have to wait 3 day in order to file a dispute requesting our creditsback, then we have to wait another 5 days so we can still not hear from the auction owner before we can get our credit back. But L:istia never des anything to those kids that are not going to be good Listians in the first place. If Listia has time to scan our IP addresses then damn why can’t you take a look at all these bogas accounts that have already claimed out credits that have to be held for 8 days. How fair is that. I had a new person all she was her for was to collect all those free credit listia gives freely to people and kids and one of them won an auction of mine. When I refused to send the item because she was not listia verified I was called the most disgusting vile, vulgar names I have ever heard. Listia even flagged the profanity, so I then asked listia for created support ticket and copied the auction link as they request and just incase they didn’t want to go to the actual auction I copied and pasted every comment from me and from her proved that I refused to engage her and the response I got back made me so angry as all this agent did was recite listia rules back to me as if I didn’t already know these rulesshe recited to me. I went back with a vengeance and asked her would you want your mother or daughter called to be called all the disgusting and vulgar language and profanity to have to put up with that! I then said I wanted her supervisor, because all thhey seem to read is the tital in which you have to choose from that there was none that applied tol what was going on, so all she was read the title which prompted her to recite listia rules. Long story short It made to a supervisor and finally after 2 weeks of this going on my credits were refunded back to me and finlly removed the slug of a person from the site. Why does anybody have to go through that kind of ordeal??. And it started because Listia doesn’t put obstacles in place to detour these kinds of people that are just here to take whatever they can and are rewarded by listia by giving them credits, then listia will give them another couple 1000 if they list and auction FOR CRAYONS and no pictures. There is seriously something wromg with Listia’s recruiting these bottom feeders, and something is seriously broken that us older and dedicated Listians are paying for it dearly. I could care less about these raffles as again these bottom feeders get there hands in the raffles to and take away from us as well. FIX LISTIA then you can FIX the raffles Enough saqid
I agree with you totally I had my share! I just want to say Thanks You so much and well said even with the typos. I think Listia should start a say a kiddy pool for new people to test them out and have different levels to unlock to be able to play with the “long term Listians” before they are able to bid on people who been here so long and then rune and destroy what we built up over time in our seller feedback and such or like you said Rob us out credits then run away with free items also. I just got a bad feedback because the idiot is new and he not listening to reason. All these years I worked and was proud of my work and all it takes is one new idiot to come in and Poof only a few seconds GONE!! Us people on listia who have been on for a long while its not right!! What does Listia need with all them credits anyways?? I think that if one person wins like the auctions everyone gets the credits back but the winner!! The other thing is if that is not done I think that then listia should do a 1 ticket raffle or both kind of raffles making it really fair for everyone to win a raffle. Now if my Idea is used in this case I been on listia for a few years now not as long as some but more then others I think because this was good problem salving and you will more then likely use that then I should get a bunch of credits for all the good ideas I just gave!!
