The Greatest Gift

ListiaCharitiesSome say charity is the greatest gift, and here at Listia we agree. With our monthly Charity program, all members are encouraged to donate funds to charity without spending any money whatsoever.

Members are able to donate a few of their Listia Credits to any one of our monthly charities. While members donate their Credits, Listia matches those credits with real money which is then donated once the month is complete. Over the years Listia has raised more than $40,000 USD for a wide variety of charities around the world.

Poteau Pound Pups would be an awesome group to raise money for they pull the dogs and cats from the local pound and place them in foster homes until they are adopted last year alone they saved over 400 cats and dogs it is a non profit located in Poteau, Oklahoma ran by 4 women and a bunch of fosters who open their hearts and homes to save these animals and do it all out of their own pockets and off donations saving this many animals is not cheap they are all fully vetted and spayed or neutered which adds up to 1,000’s of dollars worth of vet bills

    “For those who thirst”
It is an organization that I joined last year. They have been working in Guatemala for 10 years digging wells for the mountain people, building homes, schools, orphanages. They build relationships with the local people and give them skills for a lifetime. They collect backpacks for the children who attend school. They co-ordinate with high schools for volunteers to go to learn and help paint, build, teach, etc. I go to teach sewing to the women and teens to give them a skill to earn money for their families. They pay for nothing…everything is donated. They receive clean, fresh water for life. Something they have never had.

  6. Sadie Means says:

Epileptic Foundation would be a good one to donate to they help lots of children and adults that have epilepsy .

Is there some way you could make it easier for Listia members to find the Listia Charities page to make a donation?

I found it very difficult to locate/navigate directly to the Charities page from within the Listia website. I’ve seen other members commenting on this as well. The only way I was finally able to find a link to the Charities pages was to do a Google search for Listia + Charities.

I hope you’ll consider (especially during the Holiday Season) making it easier to find the link to the Charities page. Is there any chance Listia might consider doing this soon?
