(marthaannflores) I started Listia on January 1st, 2012 and found out through Facebook. I started searching auctions and got all set up that same night. It became a nightly ritual of taking pictures of items for my daughter and I to get rid of and list. We had so much fun bonding, too. It also provided a means of companionship and means to help each other. Listia helped me through some real bad times: severe depression, recovery from surgery and more. During these times there have been many Listian friends that have listened and helped me along the way. For this, I’m very grateful. So not only have I gotten many items, gotten rid of many items, got closer to my daughters, made many friends, and improved my health, but most of all, I met a wonderful family with a precious little lady fighting daily for her life. Thank you Listia for bringing this little lady into my life (I hope one day to meet her – she holds a place in my heart).

(KarmaCake) I have been on Listia for a few months and am truly amazed by its unique and creative take on online marketplaces. It is better than Amazon, better than Ebay, and better than most other online marketplaces out there! The ability to sell almost anything is wonderful and extremely helpful to all Listians. As a medically disabled military US ARMY vet, I am so happy this venue is a blessing and a very successful experience. (kimberlypusey) This site is amazing! I joined back in August 2012 and after a friend had posted on Facebook an auction she had won and I have been addicted ever since! Some of the people I’ve won auctions from have become dear friends on Listia and on Facebook. A lot people on Listia are genuine and there are some that are questionable but Listia protects your credits.  I have found that the people I have met on Listia ARE great people, like me and you.  Most are kind and will do what they can to help and offer advice. And I appreciate that. I have met some of the most kindest, sweetest, greatest people I’ve met in a long time.  Thanks to all the moderators who work to make the site a safe and fun place to be!

(susanmalston3) I started on Listia to find items for myself and started by listing guitar picks (because at any given time I have a 100-1,000 guitar picks on hand). I teach guitar to local people who are interested in learning how to play, and as a reward for practicing their instrument, I give them really cool guitar picks. Soon my guitar picks started flying out in the mail at an alarming rate and my credits started to build up fast which I used to bid on and win a lot of intimate items for a local ladies group. One day I noticed a lot of local families were depending more and more on the local food banks, so I inquired as to where they got the food items from and I was told that local charity organizations donated money to help them buy the food for families in need during these hard economic times, then that little light in head lit up. Now today 100% of my guitar pick sales go to bid on and win intimate items, which I turn around and sell at our ladies group and then 100% of my proceeds are donated to local food banks to help feed anyone who is in need. This is just a hobby for me, but it’s a VERY rewarding hobby indeed. So anyone who GIN’s or bids on and wins my guitar picks; know that the credits you are using on my items are going for a really good cause…. Oh, and I do come across items once in awhile for myself, lol… THANK YOU Listia for making it a really fun way to help my mission with feeding hungry people.

Some of the people I’ve won auctions from (and some that have won from me) have become dear friends on Listia and on Facebook. The people on Listia are genuine and they are REAL people. I say this because I have family members who are constantly telling me: “the people you meet online are not “real” people. You just cannot trust anyone you meet online”. Well that is true in for some you might meet, but I have found that the people I have met on Listia ARE real people. They are just like me. They are just like you. Yes, we are all different in some way, but when it comes down to it, we are all the same. Most are kind and will do what they can to help and offer advice. And I appreciate that a tons.  (Rosalynb7594) This site is amazing! Back in 2013, I went through an awful break up that resulted in me having maybe three outfits in good condition. So here I was, in my mother’s house, relying on her charity, but even that wasn’t enough to buy the clothes that I needed. Then I found Listia! In those early two months, I was able to build a basic wardrobe, in addition to buying several jewelry pieces and home items, for less than $30 out of my own pocket! Not only do I get great new-to-me items in amazing condition, but the moderators and users are more helpful and friendly than on a lot of auction sites!

I have found that these people who don’t even know me tell me how sweet and kind I am and praise me for being what I’m supposed to be..I’ve had two woman in particular that have been a heaven sent. One has given me help when she didn’t have to and the other we bonded over an auction she won because it was her father’s favorite. Both of our family members had dealt with cancer and my item was her dad’s favorite. I love making people happy and love that people in this world still care. I didn’t have much money for Christmas one year and a friend had told me about this site where you could take old stuff around the house and sell online to get credits. Best of all it’s FREE to sign up and get FREE credits to start using. At first I didn’t believe him but once I saw it was all true. I then took those free credits and was able to get some really awesome things. I was able to get my family and friends tons of gifts. I thank you and all the Listians out there. I am now on Listia all the time still getting rid of things around the house and trying to tell people about LIstia and willing to teach anyone on how to use this site. Thank you again.

Since I’ve been a member I have “met” some wonderful people, won some lovely items, & have been able to auction off my crochet items to people who might not be able to afford them otherwise! I have told everyone I can about your wonderful site, mentioned it on my Facebook crochet page, and talked family members into joining. You site is absolutely wonderful; not to mention lots of fun! It’s the best place to go and find whatever you need for free. I’ve gotten birthday gifts for my grandkids and family and also gotten Christmas gifts for them, too. To me, it’s better then Walmart. There is no better place to shop at then Listia! I’ve also gotten a lot of things i need that I could never buy at stores. I can’t believe I’m on Listia; it feels like home 🙂 i just wanted to shared my story and tell you thank you so much for having Listia be a part of my life.

(betsysimmons90) When I found Listia, I was moving in to a new place and really didn’t have that much as I had been living with my son and his family. I was able to get curtains for my living room and bathroom, measuring cups, decor and so more (too many to mention). I don’t know what I would have done without Listia. I also met a new friend that also has Fibromyalgia like me.  Not a day goes by that I am not on Listia at least once a day. I was pregnant with a boy, and knew I would need things. I already had a girl, so I used Listia to get rid of those clothes. I was able to get different things for my son. (Jeslinker70) My love for Listia started more than 4 years ago when one day my daughter asked if I could get her some silly bandz she found online. Well, after signing up and looking around, I couldn’t wait to get started! Since then, I have sold so much I don’t use anymore. My husband will hand something to me and say one word “Listia” lol. I have made friends with some wonderful people and I’m very grateful for their friendship! Most importantly, Listia has been a true blessing when it comes to holidays and birthdays! All of my sons’ birthday presents (down to wrapping paper) came from Listia. I have already started Christmas shopping and I’m sure I’ll get everything I need. Oh, yes my daughter did get silly bandz and a whole lot more.

I have literally millions of recipes and I want to share my favorites with people. I have also found a lot of great things here, too. (kellieb77) I stumbled across Listia in Dec 2014 shortly before Christmas (I saw it mentioned on a couponing site) and I signed up so I could earn some coke rewards. That quickly changed & became so much more! I was listing stuff like DVD’s & video games my children grew out started winning stuff we need like candles, gift cards, clothes, dog items, stamps, household items, etc. Listia has helped me so much in such a short time; I only wish I had joined sooner! I have made lifelong friendships and it has been a life changing experience. I just love my Listia family. Thank you so much for helping my family, Listia. (onesmileynurse) I joined Listia in May 2011 after looking for something different than the typical auction sites. I worked as a nurse for 25 years, until I was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular disease. I have always been compassionate and giving.  Listia has given me a way to be giving again! I love it! When I go to our post office (a small town of 1700 folks), I joke with the postmaster that it cost me more to get rid of my own stuff, because I am so giving! I always offer free shipping and generally start most of my auctions off with a very low or zero bid. I enjoy helping other people be able to get items they would like to have without it costing them so much! I love the idea of using the points for this bidding system. I think this keeps things fair and on a even keel. Since I’m not able to work, Listia also keeps me from going into depression and keeps me busy doing things, since I’m not able to do much anymore with my illness. I have also met many new great friends on Listia. In fact, I can say I have met such great friends on Listia that if I need to go to another part of the country for medical care that I would be able to do so and have places to stay without the cost of a hotel.  This is how much I adore and trust these people! The friends I have met on Listia are very giving people. One of my friends even assists feeding homeless people. There are so many people on Listia with hearts of gold! I feel that many of us on Listia don’t just want to give away our unwanted items, but to see people’s dreams come true! I plan on being a friend of Listia for many years to come!

A friend of mine invited me to check out Listia and I did and have been here every since. I have made so many friends on here. I have been a scroll saw artist for many years. I am amazed at all the wonderful people I have met with either selling or buying with credits on this website. Listia is such a great resource to get many things that you need from clothing, books, DVDs, jewelry and more. It is wonderful that it is done with a credit system instead of cash. It makes it so much easier for the bidder and the seller. You can find incredible deals on Listia. I am very thankful and grateful for this website and the folks that make it happen. I LOVE Listia and I highly recommend it to anyone that has not tried it.

(debdeb1964) Two and a half years ago my youngest son died suddenly at 24 years old. I went into a deep depression and shut everyone out of my life. Almost a year ago, I stumbled onto Listia. I started off by just looking around and seeing the many things being given away. I thought “I have a lot of cool stuff I could give away”. The more I gave away and the more things I received, I started having fun again. I’ve met a lot of very nice people who I keep in contact with. I finally have something to look forward to everyday whether it’s listing new things, getting new things or just chatting with my new friends. I am so thankful that I found Listia.
